The Snowman kills… again

10.19.2017

What is the funniest thing to do when it’s snowing? Maybe some athletes prefer to climb or to ski, but many of us love to do our own snowman with a carrot nose.

But in this case, the story will be a little bit different in this British crime thriller, where a detective will try to identify the killer behind the “snowman”,  name he uses in his calling card. When detective Harry Hole sees the first victim in the first winter’s snow, he quickly relates it with old similar cases.

Curiosities about the movie

  • The movie was directed by Tomas Alfredson, but it’s not a little detail that Martin Scorsese also wanted to direct it as well as Ridley Scott.
  • The script belongs to Hossein Amini (“Drive”) and Peter Straughan.
  • It’s based on the novel of the same name, whose author is the Norwegian crime-writer Jo Nesbø.
  • The cast is amazing: Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Val Kilmer and J.k. Simmons.
  • Fassbender didn’t have any break before the filmmaking: he finished “Assassin’s Creed” and, as soon as he finished it, he began filming “The Snowman”.
  • There is a part of the cast reunited again: Fassbender worked with Val Kilmer in “Song to Song” this year!
  • The film was entirely filmmaked in the coldest part of Norway.
